Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Spatula
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking Tray
  • Chopping Board
  • Knife
  • non stick spray

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Rice Krispies
  • 2 cups Marshmallows
  • 1 cup Cornflakes
  • 6 tablespoon Butter

Instructions

  • Grease a shallow baking tray with the non stick cooking spray ( to give dimensions)
  • Measure out the ingredients and set them aside in bowls
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and add the marshmallows. Stir the mixture for about a minute and a half.
  • Pour the cream into a bowl containing the rice Krispies and cornflakes and mix with a spatula ensuring all the Krispies are coated with the cream.
  • Gently transfer the mixture into the greased tray, spread, and press onto the tray.
  • Add some cornflakes and gently stir and crush some of the cornflakes
  • Set aside the tray, and let the mixture rest for two hours to set firmly.
  • Move the set bar onto a chopping board; using a sharp knife or cookie cutter, cut out your desired shapes.

Notes

Note: If you are using unsalted butter, then you can sprinkle a pinch of salt while combining the cream and the rice Krispies.
When adding extra ingredients to rice krispies treats for recipe variation, it's helpful to crush the cornflakes to smaller sizes of flakes.
The size of the flakes are big and they tend to make the krispies
