Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tsp. Yeast
  • ½ cup. Warm milk
  • ½ cup. Water lukewarm
  • cup. Melted butter

Apple Pie Filling Ingredients

  • 5 Apples Peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp. Ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup. Brown sugar
  • 5 tbsp. Melted butter
  • 2 tbsp. Butter At room temperature
  • ½ tsp. Apple spice

Creme Cheese Icing Ingredients

  • cups. Powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup. Softened cream cheese
  • 4 tbsp. Butter At room temperature
  • ½ tsp. Vanilla extract

Instructions

Dough iIstructions:

  • In a small bowl, combine the lukewarm water, ¼ cup sugar, and yeast.
    Set it aside for 10 minutes or until the mixture begins to bubble indicating the yeast has become active.
    Or you could add your yeast directly to the flour. Ensure the yeast doesn’t get in contact with the salt. Salts makes yeast inactive.
  • In another large bowl, whisk the melted butter, egg, warm milk, and salt. Add the yeast mixture you had set aside and then add a cup of flour after another as you whisk.
  • Put the dough on a flat surface and knead for 10 minutes. If you are using a stand mixer, attach the dough hook attachment and knead for 5 minutes.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with plastic wrap for its first rise. Place it in a microwave or oven for 2 hours as you work on the apple filling.

Apple Pie Filling Instructions:

  • Heat a large skillet to medium/ high heat and add 5 tablespoons of butter. Stir the butter until it melts.
  • Add the apples and sugar and sauté until the apples are lightly caramelized.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and set it aside until you are ready to use it.

Cheese Cream Frosting Instructions:

  • Mix the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla essence, and salt with an electric or stand mixer on medium speed until the icing is light and fluffy.
  • Onceall the other ingredients are ready and the dough in the microwave/ oven hasrisen, remove it from the greased bowl and roll it out on a flat surface into a16*24 inch rectangle.
  • Spread the 2 tablespoons of butter at room temperature evenly on the dough avoiding ½ inch from the edges.
  • Mix the brown sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle it evenly across the butter.
  • Spread the apple mixture over the brown sugar as evenly as you can.
  • Roll your dough tightly into a log 24 inches long and cut it into two-inch slices
  • Line a 9*13 baking pan with parchment paper and place the rolls on the paper about an inch apart.
  • Cover it with a plastic wrap and allow it to rise for 1 hour.

Baking the Apple Pie Cinnamon rolls

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and then bake the rolls for 20 minutes or until the edges are golden in color. Remember to check if the rolls have baked perfectly on the underside.
  • Allow the rolls to cool for at least 20 minutes then top with cream cheese frosting.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
