Easy Homemade Cheese Danish

What’sbetter than the smell of freshly baked Danish? I am a huge fan of thisamazingly delicious cheese Danish. They are unbelievably tasty, and finallyhere is a simple step by step recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets. Defrosted puff pastry (1 box)
  • 1 Egg yolk At room temperature
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 8 Oz. Cream cheese At room temperature
  • 1 tsp. Pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle measuring 30 cm by 10cm and then cut the sheets into 12 squares.
  • Place the squares on a tray line of parchment paper, and separate each square with a square-shaped parchment paper. Keep them refrigerated as you prepare the cream cheese filling.
  • 3. In a small bowl, mix the egg yolk, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and sugar until the mixture is soft and creamy.
  • 4. Place a spoonful of the mixture on each square and pinch closed.
  • 5. In a small mixing bowl, prepare your egg wash by beating one egg and mixing it with 2 tablespoons of water. Use a pastry brush to coat the pastry before baking.
  • 6. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and bake your cheese Danish for 15 minutes. Check for an attractive golden brown color.
