In my house, some folks actually live on smoothies on certain days. We keep trying all manner of combos, enriching the recipes with nutritious ingredients.
Though smoothies taste like dessert, I find smoothies more healthier than ice cream. I have convinced my children and they have joined the wagon. Smoothie over ice cream.
One of our favorite combos is made of strawberries and bananas. The strawberries are sweet and tart in flavor, the immense sweetness of the banana balances out the tartness in the strawberries.
This was inspired by my Smoothie King Strawberry Extreme Recipe on this site, and pairs well with the Lotus Biscoff Cake.

I will be sharing with you a recipe that is suitable for those who are lactose intolerant. I have two of them in my house but they do not miss on the smoothie goodness whenever we make smoothies with dairy products!
Let us look at the delicious ingredients that we combined to make this decadent, nutrient filled smoothie.

The Ingredients
Banana
Bananas are a sweet, fleshy fruit popular in any groceries you could walk in. Bananas add a depth of sweetness to the smoothie blending beautifully with the apple and strawberry flavors.
Bananas are rich in many nutrients such as manganese, potassium, and vitamin b6 according to the Healthxchange website. Bananas have fiber and also aid in digestion.
Frozen strawberries
Strawberries are popularly known as the 'queen of fruits’. Strawberries possess sweetness and juiciness with a slightly tart taste.
Strawberries are very delicious when raw or cooked in various dishes ranging from savory to sweet.
Strawberries contain vitamins, fibers, and antioxidants known as polyphenols. They do not have sodium, fat, or any cholesterol. You can substitute it with other fruits such as blueberries, raspberries, or pineapples.
To get a creamy smoothie, use frozen strawberries in your recipe.
Apple juice
Apple juice elevates the deliciousness of the smoothie by introducing an extra tone of tartness and sweetness.
The juice makes the smoothie a little runny as frozen bananas and strawberries make quite a thick smoothie.

FAQ Strawberry Banana Smoothie Without Yogurt
Can I use nondairy milk in my strawberry banana smoothie?
Oh yes, you can, if you are lactose intolerant or you are on a keto diet, non-dairy milk such as almond milk, or coconut milk will work perfectly.
Plant-based milk is equally nutritious making a good substitute for yogurt in the smoothie recipe.
Pro Tip

Frozen fruits need a powerful mortar to crush. If you do not trust your blender like I could not trust mine, try this tip.
Use a food processor to crush the frozen fruits. Transfer the crushed fruits to the blender then add the apple juice. Keep blending the mixture till you get a smooth consistency.
A standard food processor is more powerful compared to most regular kitchen blenders. To enjoy smoothie making, purchase a powerful blender.
